Of fools and their misconceptions

I was watching Kaal this morning. The last time i had seen it i remember having loved the sights and the camera work in the movie.. lara dutta sizzling against the hilly back drop of corbett national park... whats not to like? So i sat down, removed my shoes, made myself some maggi and settled in front of the TV for a good movie session. Ofcourse the last time i had seen this movie, i was hardly aware about the way of the tiger. Here are some of the things that are wrongly presented in the movie.
misconception 1:

Tigers dont become man-eaters for fun! They hunt people when they are old, wounded or unfit for proper hunts. Ofcourse a rare case is when a man-eater teaches its off spring that men are easy prey and the knowledge is transferred through generations... this is what is rumoured to have happened in sunderbans.
misconception 2:

Tigers are not pack animals. They dont attack as a pack. As if three tigers attacking from the front was not enough, Karan Johar decides to put in another tiger from the back tearing away at the seat covers. Though the frightened look on lara dutta's face helplessly looking around for someone to save her is a big turn on, it was irritating to see directors/producers choosing to distort the truth just to gain more viewership!!.. I dont need any more reasons to hate the Johar camp!!!

Tigers kill by ambush. They do not play with their prey, nor do they chase till it gets tired. Tigers to the best of my knowledge dont really enjoy a chase. They are too heavy to chase most of its prey base. So Ajay Devgan explaining to the stunned audience that the tiger dint kill them cos it loves to chase until the prey is tired nad then it plays with it, nad then finally kills it is one big piece of crap, sugar coated with a gorgeous looking lara dutta and spoon fed as a piece of long lost jungle-wisdom.

It is utterly stupid to actually believe that tigers love to the eat the head first !!!!
It is bad enough that the indian psyche has a lot of pre-existing misconceptions. It was not really necessary for K.Johar to feed the hysteria that tigers are mean, cruel killers. It is unfair for people to blame tigers, and other predator species for the increasin number of cattle kills... we are eating into the forests and hunting down their prey for pleasure. They need food to eat after all!!!!
